(The Foundational Litanies)
These litanies are to be practised on a regular basis at selected times of the day by all murid, as guided by our murabbi.
The foundational litanies of our path are:
Wirid-ul ‘Am is the foundation of our path. All murid are to perform this wirid twice a day – once after Subuh prayers and once after Maghrib prayers. And success is only by Allah (swt).
Hizb-ul Bahr, by our master, Imam Abul Hasan Ali Ash-Shadzili, is a litany that is read by a great number of Muslims around the world. It is related by the Imam that there is never a place in which it was recited, except that there is security in it. It is to be recited everyday after ‘Asr prayers.
Written by Imam Ibn Mashish, who was the teacher of Imam Abul Hasan Ali Ash-Shadzili, As-Solatul Mashishiyah is a seminal piece of work in offering salutations to our Prophet s.a.w. It continues to be read by many across the Muslim world. It is to be recited every night before sleeping.
Thus concludes the collection of our Foundational Litanies. And to Allah (swt) belongs all Praise.
