and teach it.”

About The Courses

Shadz Learning Centre is introducing an array of Quran proficiency courses from Beginner, Intermediate to Advanced levels. Start from the basics as a Beginner to learn and know the foundations of Quran recitations. Move forward to be able to identify and apply the correct methods of recitations. And finally refine and deepen your Quran recitations accuracy with a certified Quran teacher.

Designed for the beginner in mind, this course will take students through all the Arabic alphabets (huruf hijaiyah) in their singular and joint form.

Students will also learn the first of three basic diacretics, the fathah. They will also learn the lengthener (madd) for fathah, which is Alif.

Duration: 8 to 10 weeks

Books used: Iqra Books 1 to 2

*Students may purchase the books at Tokoh Warisan, Joo Chiat Complex.

This course is designed as a follow-up to Tarteel 1.

Students will also learn the tasydid and sukun, as well as basic rules of tajweed.

Duration: 8 – 10 weeks

Books used: Iqra Books 3 to 4

The final instalment of our Tarteel series, this course is designed to help students apply basic rulings of tajweed in their recitation, over and above gaining fluency in their recitation.

An excellent preparation for students to transition to Al-Quran.

Duration: 10 – 12 weeks

Books used: Iqra Books 5 to 6

*Students may purchase the books at Tokoh Warisan, Joo Chiat Complex.

Upon gaining fluency in recitation, students are highly encouraged to learn the rulings of tajweed.

Learning and applying these rulings further enhances one’s Quranic recitation.

Students will learn rulings such as Nun and Mim Sakinah, Al-Mudood, Saktah, Imalah, Ishmam, Tasheel, Naql and many more.

Duration: 6 – 8 weeks

Books used: N.A. (Notes will be provided by us)

The most important application of Quranic recitation is performing one’s solah.

Misreading verses from Al-Quran can change its meaning quite drastically. Verses can even become offensive in meaning if it is not recited properly.

In this course, students will revisit and fine-tune all the recitations in solah.

Students will also learn the meaning of their recitation, thus providing deeper meaning and appreciation during their daily solah.

Duration: 3 – 4 weeks

Books used: N.A. (Notes will be provided by us)

In this course, students will recite chapters from Juz Amma as well as selected chapters from Surah Lazim (commonly recited chapters) such as Surah Yaseen, Surah Al-Mulk, Surah Al-Waqi’ah and many others.

This course serves as a bridge for students who have completed Iqra Book 6 and are transitioning to Al-Quran.

Begin your Quranic recitation by reciting these short and common chapters first.

Duration: 6 – 8 weeks

Books used: Al-Quran

This course is for students who are ready to recite Al-Quran from cover to cover, but have yet to master their tajweed rulings.

They are still welcome to khatam the entire Quran, but will not be given a chain of Quranic transmission (sanad) upon completion.

Duration: Varies depending on student ability
